Whalley Farm Bed and Breakfast is a large working farm set in the
green, rolling hills of the Cotswolds. A dairy farm of 650 acres,
the scenery and ambiance are typical of the Cotswolds; with little
valleys, hills, cornfields and woodland including ancient stone
mines. We rear our own calves from our own pedigree Holstein
livestock.
The large listed period farmhouse, with its wooden beams and
traditional Cotswold stone, dates back to the early 1600's. It
is believed that some of the stone used came from the farm's Roman
villa.
Within their cosy farmhouse, Jan and Gill Rowe offer home from
home comfort. This beautiful old house lends itself to making your
stay enjoyable, peaceful and relaxing. There are good sized double
bedrooms with king sized bed, en suite or private bathroom, choice
of bathroom luxuries, fluffy towels, TV, clock radio and a welcome
tray with tea/coffee making facility. There are panoramic
views across the garden, lawns, farm fields and rolling hills. The
living room offers a log fire with central heating throughout.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the large farmhouse kitchen or in the
oak beamed dining room furnished with traditional period furniture.
There is a choice of English breakfast and homemade jams,
Continental breakfast, a variety of cheeses including fresh fruit
salad and yoghurt. Special diets can be catered for.
Tennis can be enjoyed on our own tennis court, or one can sit in the
peaceful, pretty surroundings gazing at the cows grazing in the
fields. One may arrange for a packed lunch and walk in the woods or
fields on the farm or walk along the farm footpaths which are linked
to the Cotswold Way. One may cycle along our pretty lanes to the
charming Cotswold villages which are within easy reach.
Whittington is a short distance from the small Saxon town of
Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle. The farm is an ideal base to explore
the country pubs, including being central to many well-known
Cotswold Villages and numerous National Trust properties. London is
1.5 hours away, Oxford and Blenheim Palace 40 mins, Cirencester 20
mins, Stratford 40 mins, Warwick Castle 50 mins.
